(August 17, 2015/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology (IT) company specializing in geographic information system (GIS) solutions, was featured in August 2015 editions of GPS World magazine and the Esri® Canada blog for providing a Canadian iceberg tracking expedition with geospatial location intelligence. GeoDecisions partnered with Solara Remote Data Delivery Incorporated, Canada’s Carleton University, and Esri during the project.

An intelligent location server using the Esri® ArcGIS platform, GeoDecisions’ GeoILS worked with Solara’s tracking devices to help expedition crew members visualize, analyze, and leverage iceberg-pertinent data. “Thanks to our partners’ efforts, we now have a great new suite of tools for examining our data,” said Derek Mueller, assistant professor and physical geography program supervisor with Carleton University.

Through GeoDecisions’ GIS-based solution, the project team was able to produce customized maps with iceberg information for geographic areas of interest based on specified criteria. For more information, read the entire GPS World article and Esri Canada blog.
