Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council Wins EGI Award Recognizing GeoDecisions Applications

(May 7, 2014/Abu Dhabi, UAE) The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), won an Excellence in GIS Implementation (EGI) Award at the 2014 GISWORX conference in Dubai, UAE. A leader in the information technology industry specializing in geospatial solutions, GeoDecisions developed the EGI award-winning GeoPlanner web portal and the Project and Task Management System for the UPC in 10 months while working in Abu Dhabi.
GeoPlanner and the Project and Task Management System facilitate planning processes and collaboration internally within the UPC and externally between Abu Dhabi municipalities and development companies. The geospatial tools enable UPC urban planners and external planning stakeholders to easily identify framework plans, master plans, planning policies, and regulations for any location; better organize documents and data in various formats; and track development proposal reviews and approvals.
