GeoDecisions GeoPlan Benefits Sanitary Sewer and Stormwater Utilities

Kevin Scott, GISP, a GeoDecisions senior project manager based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, provided the water business unit of Gannett Fleming, GeoDecisions’ parent company, with an overview of GeoPlan during a recent learning session. Powered by GeoDecisions, GeoPlan is a web-based software package that features a full suite of modules to help municipalities, cities, and counties manage operations.

The application’s capabilities include property and facility management, permits and approvals, code enforcement, subdivision management, customer service, and GIS mapping. During his Gannett Fleming water engineering presentation, Kevin explained how GeoPlan provides sanitary sewer and stormwater clients with an intuitive user interface and mapping functionality to receive information fast.

Through a live connection to GeoPlan, users can quickly and efficiently look-up and query information about their assets through many attribute fields. With Esri® ArcGIS Online integration, connectivity of the utility and past maintenance are with GeoPlan users in the field, where they perform live updates from a laptop or tablet.

GeoPlan’s integrated document management enables users to visualize past maintenance records, inspections, and repairs performed on pipes and structures. This empowers utility staff to make informed decisions without performing hours of office research.

Using GeoPlan on the Esri platform, government agency departments can share and coordinate geospatial data in a more collaborative way and improve their bottom line.
