Meet Jim Lawruk, Developer
/Hello, my name is Jim Lawruk. A developer working out of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, I have been with GeoDecisions since 2014. You can typically find me at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in downtown Harrisburg, where I work as the lead developer for an intranet browser-based mapping application that allows users to visualize and query geographical data from a variety of sources. The application was built using technologies including Oracle, Esri® ArcGIS, JavaScript API, AngularJS, and ASP.NET Web API. I also contributed major enhancements to an additional browser-based application for mapping road and bridge project data.
Prior to GeoDecisions, I worked as a web developer for seven years at the Heritage Foundation, a think tank located in Washington, DC. There, I was the lead for many of Heritage's public-facing Web properties, and the technical project manager for the launch of the Daily Signal, a multimedia news platform. Before that, I worked as a developer for Lutron Electronics, creating lighting control software for large commercial spaces including the New York Times building in Manhattan, New York; and for the banking industry at Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union developing online bill payment software.
I enjoy spending time with my spare time with my wife and two young daughters. My hobbies include running, hiking, biking, and golf.
