Delaware’s Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs Launches CHRIS, GeoDecisions’ GIS for Historic Properties

(February 26, 2015/Middletown, Del.) The Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs unveiled the updated version of its Cultural and Historical Resource Information System (CHRIS), a Web-based geographic information system (GIS) featuring historic properties located in Delaware. CHRIS was developed by GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in GIS solutions, as a collaborative project involving division staff and the Delaware Department of State.

Exclusively using the Esri® ArcGIS Online platform, CHRIS is designed to help preserve, maintain, and foster awareness of Delaware’s historical resources. The application is an important tool for government agencies and their consultants in project planning, for local governments concerned with protecting historic properties in their jurisdictions, and for Delaware citizens seeking information on the history and architecture of their communities. CHRIS also features a Quality Control and Acceptance work flow built to be compatible with the ArcGIS Online platform.
