Senior Technical Solutions Director Matt Merrill Rejoins GeoDecisions, Driving Results for Clients

With an ongoing commitment to serve as a trusted geographic information systems (GIS), geospatial, data, and cloud technology solutions advisor to our clients, GeoDecisions welcomes back industry leader Matt Merrill, CSM, GISP.

Merrill will serve as principal consultant of applications and systems and will manage the application development and systems teams. He returns to GeoDecisions, a division of Gannett Fleming, after a brief stint leading the software team at a learning development firm that makes software as a service (SaaS) learning management system (LMS) solutions.

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder … I believe that is the saying. After spending nearly 18 months away from the GIS industry, I realized how passionate I am about using GIS to solve complex business problems and delivering best-in-class solutions and products for clients. I'm excited to re-engage with existing clients and look forward to working with new clients," said Merrill.

During his prior tenure at GeoDecisions, Merrill served as director of application development. He understands the complexities of building platforms and applications that scale and can provide technical assistance and oversight to develop tailored solutions. His previous experience includes solving complex challenges in local, state, and federal government as well as the financial and pharmaceutical industries.

Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Christopher Newport University and a GIS certificate from Penn State University. He is also a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).
