GeoDecisions Promotes Equity With Women in GIS Sponsorship
/Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At GeoDecisions, we believe that the best and most creative solutions come from diverse teams. As a division of Gannett Fleming, we are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI&B) in our workplace. Inclusion is a key part of our culture and a component of our corporate strategic action plan, as we are increasing diversity, holding leadership accountable, and providing tools for cultural competency.
Having a diverse and inclusive workplace has many benefits. The most significant impacts we experience are increased innovation and creativity, a more collaborative culture, improved decision-making, and more effective problem-solving. Individuals bring their different life experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds to each situation, creating a larger pool of potential solutions from which to build.
GeoDecisions is taking concrete action to increase the number of women in technology professions, including geographic information systems (GIS). Further, we have resources to support women's career growth and professional development, including:
Participation in the Connected Women at Gannett Fleming™ employee resource group (ERG).
Career development, such as career tracks and a reimbursement program for professional societies and the certified GIS professional certification.
Participation in the Connected Relationships™ Mentoring Program.
A culture with flex time and hybrid work models.

Its mission is to create a safe place for women to work towards overcoming discrimination, pay inequalities, professional isolation, and other common barriers. WiGIS’ membership includes academic, government, and private industry GIS professionals.
It provides a wide variety of programs and activities, including:
Networking.
Mentorship.
Leadership development.
Professional development.
Advocacy.
Awards and recognition.
Sponsorship
Our annual silver plus sponsorship helps WiGIS provide opportunities and accomplish its mission. Becoming an annual sponsor is one way we demonstrate our commitment to DEI&B. We view our WiGIS sponsorship as an opportunity to elevate the GIS profession and attract more women to STEM.
To enhance our impact, 10 of our employees are new WiGIS members. We are excited to offer additional benefits to our GIS professionals and promote their participation at all levels of the organization.
We are honored to partner with WiGIS as we continue growing our diverse technology and GIS teams.
